I prefer clay pots rather than plastic, so I buy a lot of used clay pots at Goodwill & thrift shops. ;)
All these clay pots for $5 dollars!
I dig soil up from the woods, & today I found a great patch of dark, thick, soft soil to fill these new pots. :)
I keep antlers & bones I find in the woods too...lol

Tomato leaves are edible & very tasty!
As your tomato plants are growing, you can nibble on the leaves, put them in salads, wraps, & even eat with fruits & smoothies!
A great way to increase your healthy leafy green intake, eat the leaves of many different plants!
Greens can be so much more than just the standard lettuce sold in stores. :)
I also eat the leaves of strawberries, rather than removing them...the more greens the merrier.♡

Finally have red bell peppers growing!
Organic bell peppers are super expensive, & usually come wrapped in plastic, ironically...
A very easy plant to grow, organically, yourself.♡

The arugula seeds are sprouting!♡♡♡
Now the trick is keeping them alive, they are SO sensitive, die very easily.
Dry out very easily, & rot easily lol.
Must stay watered, but not sit in pooled water for too long.

My wonderful/weirdo brother doesn't like to eat strawberry leaves, lol,
I use his scraps as compost.
Eventually they begin sprouting!
The trick is, keeping them alive, when I am out of town so often, & mother & brother do not water the plants enough, nothing grows lol!
I feel bad leaving my plant babies.
So still practicing how to grow strawberries from seed lol.
Talking with mother about getting a place with a yard.
She sold her house, preferred an apartment because maintenance is more handy.
But the poodle, & the plants, need a yard lol.♡♡♡

Wow, the wonderful okra bloom, is VERRRY short lived :(, so glad I came out in the morning to water, & saw it, before it died!
Only stayed a few hours, then closed up & said "Adios amigos"...& fell off the plant.
The good news...this is the baby okra fruit!♡♡♡
Lots more beautiful blooms on the way, thankfully.

Well the okra is BLOOMING!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a big, gorgeous bloom, I am amazed.
The little insect critters don't seem to be hurting the plant, yaye!
Cryptolaemus, "Mealybug Destroyer".
Have been living all over the plants.
Tiny, fuzzy, white haired bugs.
They are beneficial to the garden, don't kill them!
The okra plants are still thriving just fine.
These bugs feed on other smaller insects which are supposedly harmful to the plants, sad, but that's it.
I have actually seen the Cryptos eating the other tiny bugs...:( :( :(
These unfortunate insects are super small & light brown.
*
So at least 2 types of insects are living on the okra, & the plants are still growing, blooming, & producing fruits. :)
*
I do not use any type of pesticides, even "organic" ones, are still unhealthy in my opinion, & I do not want them sprayed all over my plants/food.
Plus I do not like the thought of killing insects.
I woke up this morning, to this wonderful, HUGE surprise...when I went to bed last night, it was still just a flower bud, so unexpected!
There are lots more buds on the way, this one has grown the fastest.
So excited to watch it morph into delicious okra fruit!
Gardening is my absolute FAVORITE hobby!!!!!!!

I can finally identify what this plant is...
OKRA!
My first time growing okra, so exciting! I grew these from seed.
Buds are forming, but, there is an insect laying eggs or something all over them. :/
I will not spray any toxins on my plants of course, just going to keep watering & hope they make it, even with the bugs living on them.
Hoping they will just go away!

rosemary clippings
I loooove the smell of fresh rosemary, also love to munch on it, delicious flavor.
Brought back these beautiful, ooey-gooey, oily, very fragrant clippings from walking the doggies last night, going to plant them & grow more!
I did not think the neighbors would mind a few tiny clippings, from their huge plants, right along the sidewalk.
If they do, they are Greedy Gregs.
;)-
If it was my plant, I would gladly let people clip from it!
